Lisa Benn

Lisa founded Prime Sports Physiotherapy on the belief that genuinely excellent physiotherapy should be available to everyone – from elite athletes to those simply wanting to move through life with less pain and more confidence. With thirty years of experience spanning paediatrics, elite sport, orthopaedic rehabilitation, and the NHS, she has built a career that is as broad as it is deep.

Her background in paediatrics runs throughout her career, from her early years as a Clinical Specialist at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Edinburgh through to her ongoing work with young people in schools, rugby academies, and beyond. She has worked with Scottish Rugby at both regional and national level, including Six Nations and international coverage, and has supported athletes across a range of other sports – giving her an understanding of performance and pressure that very few clinicians can match.

Lisa also knows what it is to be a patient. Significant orthopaedic surgery and a major rehabilitation journey of her own have given her a deeply personal understanding of what it means to yearn for a life fully lived – and to find the motivation to fight for it. That experience sits at the heart of everything she does.

Lisa is also a qualified Pilates teacher and is trained in both shockwave therapy and acupuncture, and she continues to push the boundaries of her own learning – because she believes that a good clinician never stops being curious.

As the head of a team she is enormously proud of, Lisa is as likely to point you in the direction of one of her colleagues as she is to treat you herself. The goal has always been to find the right fit for every patient, and at Prime Sports Physiotherapy, that means having a team around her that she trusts completely.
