Alan is a physio who makes everything feel a little more straightforward – approachable, experienced, and genuinely invested in the people he works with. Having practised across NHS, private hospital, and private practice settings in Scotland, Ireland, and Australia, he brings a breadth of clinical experience that spans cultures, healthcare systems, and a wide variety of patients and presentations.
His particular interests lie in shoulder injuries, lower back pain, ACL rehabilitation, and running-related and lower limb sporting injuries, and he works comfortably with everyone from those managing everyday aches and pains through to recreational and elite athletes. A qualified Level 3 Personal Trainer as well as a chartered physiotherapist, Alan weaves strength and conditioning principles into his rehabilitation work alongside manual therapy – giving patients a well-rounded, performance-informed route back to full function.
His background in orthopaedics and post-surgical rehabilitation means he is well placed to support patients through every stage of recovery after surgery, from the earliest post-operative days through to returning to the sports and activities that matter most to them.
Outside the clinic, Alan stays active through strength training and running – having completed several half marathons and a full marathon – and has a well-developed enthusiasm for travel and exploring new places, ideally with a local lager in hand.
